espresso-dosing-funnel-58mm
Espresso Dosing Funnel, 58 mm Aluminum Ring, Silver

A silver aluminum dosing funnel for 58 mm portafilters. It sits on the portafilter while you grind, and its sloped inner wall guides the grounds down into the basket. It is aluminum alloy, and the ring weighs about 1.8–2.1 oz (50–60 g). It has a straight outer band and a narrower stepped lower edge. This is the plain ring: it has no magnets, and no tamper or other tools are included.

What it does

Raises the edge above the portafilter basket, so grounds that fall toward the edge land inside the ring rather than on the counter.

Sloped inner wall that narrows toward the basket, as pictured.

Made for 58 mm (2.28 in) portafilters only. Set the ring on the portafilter, grind into it and hold the portafilter level when you move it, because the ring has no magnets to hold it in place. If you stir the grounds with a needle tool, stir gently so they stay inside the ring. Lift the ring off before you tamp. Check that the portafilter still fits under your grinder outlet with the ring on it.
