Give your flock a cleaner way to eat. This gravity feeder port kit turns a plastic bucket, barrel, bin or trough into a self-feeding station: feed drops into the recessed cup as birds peck, so less of it ends up on the ground.

What's in the kit

  • 6 gravity feeder ports, plus 1 hole saw sized to fit them.
  • Twist-lock mounting: insert the port and turn it to lock it in place.
  • Recessed cup shape helps keep feed inside the port as birds eat.
  • The included hole saw is 3.15 in (80 mm), the size of the hole each port needs.

A gravity feeder port kit that turns a bucket into a feeder for the flock

  • 6 ports + hole saw

Six feeder ports and one 3.15 in (80 mm) hole saw. Space the ports around one container or split them across several.

  • Twist-lock mounting

Insert the port through the hole and turn it clockwise until it locks. A sealing ring closes the gap.

  • Recessed cup

The recessed cup shape helps keep feed inside the port as birds eat.

  • Fits buckets and barrels

Any plastic container with a wall you can drill, from a 5-gallon bucket to a barrel or a storage bin you supply.

    Gravity feeding

Feed drops into the cup as the birds eat

Fill the container from the top and the feed settles into each port by gravity. Birds eat from the cup one at a time, so one port serves one bird at a time.

Size diagram of the feeder port and the 3.15 in hole saw

    Sizes

Port about 5.1 in long, hole saw 3.15 in

The port is about 5.1 in long and 3.5 in tall, with a 2.3 in wide opening and a 2.7 in mounting neck; the hole saw cuts a 3.15 in hole.

Four installation steps: mark the hole, drill with the hole saw, insert and rotate the port, fit the sealing ring

    Installation

Four steps with a drill and the included hole saw

Mark the hole, drill it with the hole saw, insert the port and turn it clockwise, then seat the sealing ring. No glue and no extra hardware.

    • 1. Mark the hole

Choose a spot on the container wall a few inches above the bottom so feed can flow into the cup. Mark the center.

    • 2. Drill with the hole saw

Fit the included hole saw to a drill and cut the hole. Wear eye protection and keep the container steady.

    • 3. Insert and turn

Push the port through the hole from outside and rotate it clockwise until it locks.

    • 4. Fit the sealing ring

Seat the sealing ring against the wall, fill the container with feed and check that feed reaches the cup.

      • Kit contents

6 feeder ports and 1 hole saw (3.15 in / 80 mm). The bucket, barrel or bin is not included.

      • Port size

        About 5.1 × 3.5 in with a 2.3 in wide opening.

      • Material

Molded plastic with rounded edges; a sealing ring per port.

      • Weight

Approximate shipping weight 2 lb (900 g) for the kit.

        Use and care

The port locks against the container wall, so the wall needs to be thick and stiff enough to hold it. Thin, brittle plastic can crack around the hole.

Hole saws throw plastic chips. Clamp or brace the container and keep your free hand clear of the saw.

Rinse the ports with water when you clean or refill the container and let them dry before adding feed.

Use a lid on the container and place it where rain does not blow straight into the ports. Empty and clean it if feed gets wet.
